I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding of Eve and Stuart at Ashton Memorial, in Williamsons Park in Lancaster, last Friday. The weather was perfect, which was completely different to the last wedding I photographed there.
Ashton Memorial is a beautiful folly built in the early 20th century, which is a fantastic venue both to have a wedding and photograph a wedding, as you can have the memorial as a backdrop, but also Morecambe Bay on a clear day.
The wedding was at 2.00pm which again is a great time to have a wedding in summer, as the sun usually is not at it's brightest so you don't have to contend with harsh shadows and squinting eyes.
We decided to get the group shots at the memorial, we took one of the whole wedding party from the balcony on the memorial, and took smaller groups around the memorial itself.
I then took some shots of the bride and groom, before we headed up to the Longlands Hotel in Carnforth for the wedding reception, where I carried on taking candid shots throughout the day and up until first dance.
