I recently photographed the wedding of Allison and Stuart at the fabulous Ashton Memorial, in Williamson's Park Lancaster. The wedding service was not until 3.30pm, which could've been a bit of an issue in terms of natural light, as it tends to go dark around 4.00pm at this time of year, but fortunately for me, the couple were to arrive at the service together, so we arranged to take some shots in the park prior to the wedding service.
Light at this time of year can be an issue so I always advise bride and grooms getting married to bear this in mind if they are expecting natural light photographs. Obviously as a photographer we have contingency plans and will bring plenty of flashes to use both on camera and off, so it isn't a major issue, but the resulting images will have a different look.
Ashton Memorial is such a great venue to photograph, both inside and also outside as a backdrop, and on a clear day you get a great view of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland Hills.
After the service and afternoon tea at the memorial the wedding reception was at The Borough Lancaster.
