Last Friday I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding of Hannah and Richard, in Lancaster. The wedding service was at Lancaster Town Hall, this is a fabulous building in the centre of Lancaster. Whilst the building is spectacular it does however cause some issues for photographers especially in the Council Chambers where this service was to take place, as it is very dark with dark wood panelling throughout and no windows.

During a wedding service I never use a flash as I believe it to be distracting, so your push your camera to the limit and do end up with some grainier pictures, which isn't a major issue as often this adds to the effect.

So we took a few shots in Dalton Square in front of the imposing statue of Queen Victoria, before the service, and we then went up to Williamson's Park, where the couple and I just walked around the park looking for interesting areas to take some snaps. We were really fortunate the weather and it enabled us to get some great shots.

We then headed off to The Storey Institute for the wedding reception. This is another little gem for Wedding Photography Lancaster, as it is so light and has such character. It wouldn't matter too much if the weather was typical Lancashire, as there is so much natural light in the building, but it has the added treat of the tasting garden, which from the road is completely hidden, but it is a fantastic space to grab some great images.
