Saturday was my last wedding of 2017, at the fabulous Ashton Memorial, in Williamson's Park Lancaster. The bride and groom Chloe and Simon both live in London, so guests had travelled from afar to be there. It is always a bit of a gamble in terms of the weather having a December wedding especially in Lancaster, and we weren't let down on Saturday!

It is worth bearing in mind if you are booking a winter wedding that the earlier you have it, the better chance you will have of getting some natural light shots, as the sunsets quickly, and it does become a bit of a battle and a rush for the photographer to get them. On Saturday we just about managed it, we got a large group shot of everyone from the balcony shooting down on to the courtyard, and we took the group shots in front of the memorial.

The whole was at the Memorial including the reception, which was the first time I had experienced that, and the couple also had exclusive access to the Butterfly House for a limited time, this enabled us to get some sheltered shots of the bride and groom, before we all returned to the memorial for the reception, where we were able to capture some great candid moments.
