July the 4th saw Kirsty and Paul give up their "Independence", as they got married at the Holiday Inn, Lancaster and had their wedding reception at Forrest Hills, Lancaster.
Having shot a wedding on Friday in Skipton, where the mercury was hitting 35°C, I was relieved that we had a more comfortable climate on Saturday, as not only do the high temperatures and bright sunlight, give you a sweaty photographer, it also gives you the added issues of harsh shadows and squinting eyes to work around, so Saturday was perfect.
We got to the Holiday Inn, to capture some wedding prep shots of the bride and her attendants, and of the groom "relaxing" prior to the service. The service went without hitch, before the wedding party headed up to Forrest Hills for the rest of the day. As I've said before Forrest Hills is an excellent little venue for a photographer especially as it gives you so many photo opportunities and backdrops to capture some great shots, and from what I have seen and from personal experience Eileen and her staff can't do enough to help you!
Before the Bride and Groom made their grand entrance to the venue, we sneaked to the fishing lake to capture some great shots of the couple away from the guests, even the swans played their part!
The rest of the day we got the obligatory group shots and then we tried to capture the atmosphere of the day with candid shots of guests enjoying themselves!
Another great day and a great couple, now back to the editing!!
